Tale of Woe 2 - She Only Wanted a Slice of Watermelon

This is my new refrigerator, a Westinghouse 510L bottom mount, I have had it for less than 2 weeks.
My youngest daughter Samantha went to get the watermelon out of the fridge and instead of using the handle to close the door she used one of the door shelves, this was the result.
The damage toll, one jar of French mustard,
one tiny cut on her foot,
and a shelf that is beyond repair.
I rang Westinghouse this morning and the good news is that because the refrigerator is still under warranty I won't have to pay for a new shelf, otherwise it would have cost $89.00 plus $14.95 delivery fee.
Just over an hour later the same daughter went to into the laundry to feed our dog Bella.
She put her glass of water on top of the washing machine which as it turned out wasn't such a good idea.
Hopefully nothing else will go wrong this month.

    1. Yes she was Bev, so bad that after she finished cleaning up the broken glass she locked herself in her bedroom and only came out for dinner. Bella is adorable but she is also as stubborn as the day is long and it is a constant battle of wills to see who wins.

    1. It must be hard for you having you daughter so far away and only getting to see her during the holidays and summer. Samantha has just finished her second year at university, luckily for me it is only 15 minutes away.

  3. Oh dear! Thank goodness you don't have to pay for the replacement. My youngest is always getting into scrapes, if there's something going to happen, she'll be right in the middle of it.

  4. Yikes! These things happen. Just think how much worse it could have been if all those jars broke!
