A monthly post to (hopefully) inspire you to look at old things in a new way.
Time To Retyre
Every year in Australia about 48 millions tyres reach the end of the road, of those 48 million, only 16% are recycled, the rest end up in landfill, stockpiled or illegally dumped.

Anything that can be done to reduce the number of tyres ending up in landfill can only be a good thing. Below are just a few examples of what can be done with them.
From icreativeideas comes an idea I might try myself as I have been trying to think of a cheap way to add a frog pond down in the vegetable garden.
Want something a little larger? Then pop over to Dokuchaevsk for the tutorial to create this one.
Turn a tyre into a ottoman that would right at home in a beachside cottage.
Or a planter
Paint one aqua and fill it with trailing plants to add some interest to an outside wall.
Not sure how comfy a tyre seat would be, but they seem to be popular.
How about turning one into a horse swing for the little people/person in your life.
or you could turn them into a slightly creepy, Gothic tree that would be a talking point in any backyard.

I will leave you this month with a few ideas of what you can do with old tyre rims.
They make an excellent barbecue.
They can be painted and turned into a very pretty hose holder.
And if you have the time, patience and some old tiles they can be turned into a one of a kind planter.
Well, that's it for this month's round of Repurpose - Reuse - Recycle, I will be back next month with more ideas. I hope to see you then.
